Our Grooming Policies

At Wags Bakery & Grooming, we believe clear communication is just as important as exceptional pet care. Our grooming policies are designed to provide a safe, comfortable, and transparent experience for every pet and their family while helping set clear expectations before each visit.

The policies below highlight some of the most important information you'll need before your appointment. They are not a comprehensive list of all Wags Bakery & Grooming policies.

When you schedule an appointment, our complete grooming policies will be sent to you electronically. Before your pet's grooming services can be performed, you'll be asked to review and acknowledge these policies to help ensure a smooth experience for both you and your pet.

If you have any questions about our policies or your pet's appointment, our team is always happy to help.

Cancellation & No-Show Policy

Scheduling with Care

At Wags Bakery & Grooming, your appointment time is reserved specifically for your pet. Last-minute changes and missed visits leave empty time slots that could have been offered to other clients. To keep our schedule fair and available for everyone, we have the following policy.

Appointment Cancellation Policy

At Wags Bakery & Grooming, appointment times are reserved specifically for your pet. When appointments are missed or canceled without sufficient notice, it prevents us from serving other clients and impacts our groomers' schedules.

Cancellation Fees
Appointments canceled less than 24 hours before the scheduled appointment time will be charged 100% of the scheduled grooming service (excluding add-ons).

No-Show Appointments
Clients who fail to arrive for their scheduled appointment without notifying us will be charged 100% of the scheduled grooming service (excluding add-ons).

Credit Card on File
A valid credit or debit card is required to reserve all new grooming appointments.

By scheduling an appointment, clients authorize Wags Bakery & Grooming to charge applicable cancellation or no-show fees in accordance with this policy.

Declined or Expired Payment Methods
Clients are responsible for maintaining a valid payment method on file.
If a cancellation fee or no-show fee cannot be processed due to an expired card, declined card, insufficient funds, or invalid payment method, the outstanding balance must be paid in full before any future appointments can be scheduled or confirmed.

Any existing appointments may be canceled until the balance is resolved and a valid payment method is provided.

Returned Check Policy

We understand that banking errors can occasionally happen. If a check is returned by your financial institution for any reason, a $35.00 Returned Check Fee will be applied to your account in addition to the original amount due.

Returned checks must be paid by cash, credit card, or other approved electronic payment before any future appointments can be scheduled. Wags Bakery & Grooming reserves the right to require electronic or card payments for future services following a returned check.

If you believe your check was returned in error, please contact us as soon as possible so we can work with you to resolve the issue

Repeat Violations
Clients with repeated no-shows, same-day cancellations, or unpaid cancellation fees may be required to prepay future appointments in full at the time of booking.

Wags Bakery & Grooming reserves the right to refuse future services for clients who repeatedly violate this policy.

By scheduling an appointment with Wags Bakery & Grooming, you acknowledge and agree to this policy.

Coat Condition & Matting Policy

At Wags Bakery & Grooming, every dog’s coat and temperament are unique, and our grooming time and pricing reflect the individual care needed. Coat condition and behavior both play a role in the grooming process.

Severe matting can be uncomfortable and may hide skin issues, so it often requires extra time, specialized handling, and additional fees. In many cases, a close shave is the most humane option. While we work carefully and patiently, removing heavy matting can sometimes reveal pre-existing skin concerns. If we believe continuing would cause discomfort or risk to your pet, we may stop the groom and recommend veterinary care, which can result in an incomplete groom.

We believe in honest, upfront communication and will discuss any concerns or potential added charges with you. Our priority is always your dog’s comfort, safety, and well-being, and we’re happy to share coat-care tips to help prevent matting between visits.
